ABOUT ME

Amanda and German Shepherd named BruceAMANDA WHO?

Describing yourself is always weird, but hey, some of the best things are. I get my Chandler Bing-esque sarcastic quips from my dad, my sense of humor from my brother, and my love of travel from my mom. No really, a love of travel. Don’t believe me? Check out my travel blog.

Anyway back to the good stuff; I do things that keep me happy and excited and I see no point wandering through life without a smile on my face. I’d much rather leave this world with loads of smile lines than a single frown line.

Also my dog Bruce is the most handsome creature on the planet, and of course I’m not biased.

Let’s Get Digital

I’ve kept my career in the digital realm because it continues to excite me. The digital world is constantly changing and therefore, a constant challenge. So far in my career I have covered the bases as a digital project manager, social media manager, copywriter, content strategist, brand strategist/planner, and now am a UX architect mapping user goals to business needs.

From the Corn Field to the Arch City

If you’re from the 314 and asked me what high school I went to, you’d be sorely disappointed (and if you’re not from St. Louis, you probably didn’t get that, so here’s some background). I originally hail from Altoona, IA, a small suburb of Des Moines with a casino, a small theme park and some incredible prime rib.

After high school, I drove north of my hometown and attended Iowa State University. There, I got my Bachelor of Arts in advertising, a Designated Area of Concentration in Spanish, a study abroad experience I’ll never forget, and a certificate from a local Mexican restaurant for successfully completing their Margarita challenge.
